The Horse of the Week poll returns for Monterrey.
At the final leg of Season 5, standout horse performances carry even greater significance as the championships are decided.
This week’s nominees:
Prins Van’t Eigenlo
Prins Van’t Eigenlo had a standout week, advancing to the jump off in both the Qualifier and the Grand Prix. Starting off in the Qualifier, Prins jumped double clear and rounded out the podium for a 3rd place finish. Carrying the momentum into the Grand Prix, Rodrigo Pessoa piloted the 11 year old gelding to a double clear that sealed the win in the final Grand Prix of Season 5.
Ideaal ES
Ideaal ES showed consistency and composure all week after jumping nothing cut clear in the first round. After taking the win in the 5* Qualifier, Ideaal came back to jump clear in the first round of the Grand Prix where the 13 year old gelding ultimately settled for a top 8 finish.
La Contessa
La Contessa put her best foot forward in the final Grand Prix of Season 5. Jumping an impressive double clear to land in the runner up position, La Contessa showed poise and athleticism to land the silver medal position in the last Grand Prix of Season 5.
Descartes SR
Descartes SR, brought forward the momentum from his win in the Leg 8 Grand Prix last week. The young gelding impressed by being the first double clear of the night in the final Grand Prix of Season 5. Showing class beyond his years, this talent is one to watch in the years to come.
Ubiluc
Ubiluc showed his years of experience in the 5* Team class this week in Monterrey. Mark Bluman relied on the experience of his trusted partner, Ubiluc, which proved to be beneficial as he was able to secure the Gold medal for Maccabi United which clinched their spot atop the leader board to take the overall Team Championship in Season 5.
