THIS, IS MAJOR LEAGUE.
Launched in 2021, Major League Show Jumping (MLSJ) is North America’s premier show jumping league — a high-stakes, relentless circuit built to elevate the sport through elite competition, international talent, and a fan-first format. Modeled after the structure and spectacle of Formula 1, each event features three main competitions, the 5* Qualifier, Team competition, and Grand Prix, with over $12 million in prize money across the season.
The 2025/26 calendar spans nine tour stops across North America, from Michigan to Monterrey, with both team and individual titles on the line.
The Format
From the defending champions, the Trelawny Trailblazers, to new contenders like the Rainmakers, MLSJ’s eight teams each feature six athletes — including at least two ranked in the Longines Top 250. Three compete at each leg
The season includes eight regular stops and one Final, held at iconic 5* venues across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico. Points are earned at every event, feeding into two season-long championships: the Individual and the Team.
Competition Breakdown
The Team Championship
Fast, strategic, and built for fans, the team competition plays out over three rounds. All eight teams compete in Round 1. The top four advance to a speed-focused jump-off in Round 2, with two riders each. One final rider returns in Round 3 to decide the podium— the top two teams race for Gold, the others for Bronze.
Bonus points are awarded to the team and rider that clock the Fastest Lap in the jump-offs.
The Individual Series
The Individual Series ranks the top athletes based on results across all nine events. For the first time in MLSJ history, points are earned by placing in the top 12 of all three highlight events (5* Qualifier, Team Competition, and Grand Prix) each leg.
The Qualifier and Grand Prix run over two rounds, technical questions and fences up to 1.60m in Round 1, followed by a jump-off where the fastest clear round wins.
The athlete with the most points at the end of the season claims the Individual title. Cash bonuses are also awarded to the top three on the leaderboard — rewarding consistency, versatility, and top-level performance across the series.
For both series, points accumulate throughout the season, and at the Final, are worth double — raising the stakes for one last showdown. Major League Show Jumping isn’t just another circuit — it’s a full-scale league. One that’s redefining the sport, raising the bar for athletes, and building new ways for fans, sponsors, and media to engage with top-level show jumping.
