Kent Farrington is no stranger to the World Cup stage, with Fort Worth marking his eighth appearance at the Finals. Arriving with two top mares, Toulanya and Greya, Farrington brought a plan that played out across all three days of competition.
Day one, held April 9th at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, saw a field of 35 riders take on the 1.60m Table C. Farrington opened with Toulanya, the 12-year-old mare by Toulon, and set the tone early, taking the win and moving to the top of the standings.
Day two shifted to a 1.60m Table A, with the order reversed from day one results. This time, Farrington turned to Greya, looking to carry the winning momentum into the weekend. Seven combinations advanced to the jump-off, where Farrington delivered a double clear in 34.36 seconds, making it two for two and holding the lead heading into the final day.
After a rest day, the top 28 combinations returned for the final competition. The final track tested riders over two rounds at 1.60m, with the top 20 advancing. A rail in round one narrowed Farrington’s margin, leaving no room for error in the final round with Germany’s Daniel Deusser close behind. Last to go, he delivered when it mattered, jumping clear with Greya to secure the title.
Three days. Three wins. Farrington leaves Fort Worth with his first World Cup Finals victory.
