It has been nearly a decade since two women have simultaneously held positions inside the Longines FEI World Top 10.
And Nina Mallevaey has just rewritten that history.
The U25 standout and Northern Lights rider capped a breakthrough season by climbing to eighth in the latest Longines FEI World Rankings, marking her first Top 10 appearance and a milestone moment for the sport.
At just 26, the French rider, competing for Mark and Tara Rein - who also own the Northern Lights - has built a resume well beyond her years.
Central to that rise has been her partnership with Dynastie De Beaufour (Diamant De Semilly x Cassini I), a combination that has delivered eight consecutive clear rounds in 5* Grand Prix competition. The duo produced multiple podium finishes throughout the season, highlighted by Mallevaey’s first career 5* Grand Prix victory at the Rolex Grand Prix of Brussels this summer.
The 13-year-old Selle Français mare and Mallevaey closed out their 2025 campaign with a clear round and a fifth-place finish in the 5* Grand Prix at MLSJ Leg 7 in Palm Springs, further reinforcing the consistency that has defined their year.
Since joining the Northern Lights at Leg 4, Mallevaey has made an immediate impact on the MLSJ circuit, earning valuable ranking points and delivering at the highest level.
Her Season 5 highlights include a victory in the 5* Individual class at her MLSJ debut, a runner-up finish in the 5* Qualifier at the Coachella Cup, and key performances that helped the Northern Lights advance to the second round of the 5* Team Competition at both Legs 6 and 7.
With momentum firmly on her side and an increasingly proven string behind her, the rising French talent will look to carry that form into the final legs of MLSJ Season 5, and continue cementing her place among the sport’s elite.
