Season 5 got off to a flying start.
With new combinations making their mark, records broken in the Grand Prix, and the Roadrunners emerging as the overall Leg 1 winners after a complete performance across both competitions.
Helios Win the Team Competition
Helios took the team title with Rene Dittmer, Michael Duffy, and Roberto Teran all making their debuts for the team. The gold medal jump-off came down to Roberto Teran and Dez' Ooktoff, the same combination that competed at the Tokyo Olympics together. Teran and Dez’ Ooktoff delivered when it mattered most, securing the win for Helios.
Roadrunners Finish Second in the Team and First Overall
Erynn Ballard and team substitute Kristen Vanderveen both went double clear, while debutant Julien Anquetin and Blood Diamond Du Pont pushed all the way to the gold medal jump-off before finishing second. Anquetin's Grand Prix performance added crucial points to the tally, and the Roadrunners' consistency across both competitions earned them the overall Leg 1 standings.
Trailblazers Round Out the Podium
Nayel Nassar and Charlotte Jacobs rode for Trailblazers in the team competition, with Philip McGuane delivering in the bronze jump-off. Third in the team, third overall; a steady platform to build from.
Kent Farrington and Greya Take the 5* Grand Prix
Farrington and Greya were the only combination to go sub-39 seconds in the jump-off, claiming his third 5* MLSJ Grand Prix title and his first since Leg 3 of Season 3. The win was also part of a record-breaking 10 CSI5* Grand Prix victories for Farrington in 2026. Julien Anquetin and Blood Diamond Du Pont finished second, with Lillie Keenan and Fasther third. The second time in as many seasons that Kent and Lillie have shared a Grand Prix podium.
With the Roadrunners having clinched the first Leg of Season 5, stay tuned as we look back at what shaped Season 5.
