Toronto opened a new chapter in the Ribbon Collection.
As the opening stop of the new season, Toronto was where the first points were won, the first statements were made and championship ambitions began to take shape.
Every rider and team arrived with a clean slate – and across three nights of 5* Show Jumping, new opportunities met familiar rivalries as riders and teams battled to make the strongest possible start.
Under the lights on Saturday, Shane Sweetnam and Coriaan Van Klapscheut Z topped a three-horse jump-off to win the $500,000 5* Grand Prix presented by Kubota, denying Kent Farrington a Toronto title for a third straight year.
Farrington had struck first earlier in the week, taking Thursday's 5* Qualifier before settling for the runner-up spot in the Grand Prix.
The Toronto Ribbon captures this moment at the beginning of the Season 6 journey.
The road to the championship began here – and the first Grand Prix points of the season are now on the board.
With the rest of the season still to come, Toronto marked the first step on the road to the Season 6 Finals, and every point won here has the potential to shape what follows. The League now moves to Traverse City, Michigan, for Leg 2.
